Depends on a ton load of things, but it'll be pretty much the same as most all other mags.

To the 150 NBT out of my Mashburn, it's my go to bullet and the one I've used the most. I've never kept one in a critter from short to long and big critter or small. By my way of thinking the 150 NBT is one heck of a slug. Eager to please, plenty of BC and it really pounds heck out of game! Dober I would have never believed this bullet was that good until I used it....last fall I shot this buck at 160 yards slightly quartering to the left....he wouldn't turn broadside and gave every sign he was about to leave the scene so I had to take the shot or lose the chance....the 150 NBT took out three ribs on the way in, somehow missed the guts and exited 6" in front of the base of the tail taking out 3 or 4 inches of spine.....that's at least 3 feet of deer, muzzle velocity was 3100fps out of a 7 Rem Mag ADL/FS......you can see the exit near the tail in the pic...

The 7mm 150 BT is one of the bullets that people kept insisting on using when hunting animals bigger than deer. So the guys at Nosler said OK, we'll make it a little tougher!

Also what are the odds of going through all of this and still having my rifle not shoot these bullets well? Thanks I would guess about 50/50 odds. For more than 10 years I loaded all kinds of combinations for my 7 mag and my brother's 7 mag and those two rifles never agreed on liking the same loads.

One bullet that never gets much talk that should is the Hornaday 162BTSP. Has worked very well for me and a bc that is not bad... Weither it be a Amax, bt of some sort of SP I would be considering your bullet options long before you rebarrel. I bought a 280AI with the hope of shooting nothing but 140 Accubonds out of. For the life of me that thing would not shoot them. Everything else around them yes. But not the 140s. I tried other bullets and have found more than a few that it likes.... Try different bullets!!!!!!

I use the 162 Hornady Interlock in my Mashburn and it shoots lights out. I haven't used it on anything bigger than a cow/rag horn elk and a nilgai and it performed well in those instances. It is death on deer and hogs to 450 yds. which is my limit in most instances.

I've shot the 162 Horn in several barrels from 7 Rem Mags to 3 different Mashburns. Thru the different tubes I've had various results with this bullet. Some barrels shot it well and some ok. It's a super bullet though with an awesome baked rate on it.

If you are elk hunting then choose a cartridge larger in caliber that offers good elk bullets. By rebarreling to the 7mm remington and using 168 Bergers you are at a liability for elk hunting to begin with. The 7mm remington is not a long range elk cartridge. It will work on elk with a good quality premium hunting bullet but these are not known for long range shooting. Other cartridge choices that fit your action and are good elk rounds would be the first step in your decision making.

Boy, the bulls I have killed with a 7 mag will be glad to hear that. Especially the one that ate the 168 Berger last year.
