Just built a 260 AI and have started fireforming brass...with Rem 260 factory brass loaded, the neck measures 0.291, after firing, the neck measures 0.297...if i use a bushing.003 smaller than the loaded round neck, it will be .288, a .009 difference...is this an acceptable amount for resizing? Thanks, rsbhunter
It is a bit much, but there is not much you can do about it now. An ideal chamber size would have been 0.294, with fired brass probably coming out at 0.293.
As for doing something with what you have, you probably can get away with a 0.289 bushing to give you a 0.001" fit. It should be enough if you put a bullet diameter in the neck. The other option is finding brass that is thicker in the neck.
