I am looking for recomendations for a trigger for M700. Its for a deer rifle and I am thinking a 2-2.5lb pull is where I will want to be. Its not going to Alaska.. nor is it going to be used for shooting .2MOA groups.
Up to now I have just adjusted the factory triggers, but this one feels like its full of sand and I just can't get it that low.
I hear a lot about the Jewell triggers, but on my Rugers I have always used Timneys with good results. Is the jewell going to be worth 2x the price for my application?
I am just looking for something that will adjust well down to that 2lb range.. breaks clean and is easy to install.

Send your trigger to Niel Jones, and let him do his magic for $70 bucks!

Do you need a new trigger? My never been touched from the factory mid 60's 700 pulls at 2.5 lbs. I think it is more recently that Remington has changed production with 400# lawyers now setting the pull. Here is a procedure which claims you can safely reduce the standard trigger to 2 lbs. or so. I've never had to use it, as I'm happy with mine at 2.5. And, I've never had any of the issues that CNBC has publicized. The safety did gum up and a thorough cleaning with auto throttle body cleaner fixed it without any disassembly. Remington Trigger Adjustment

You should be able to kill a deer with a 3.5 lb trigger.
I like to do my hunting BEFORE I pull the trigger! There is only one kind of dead, but there are many different kinds of wounded.

The Shilens IMO are the best hunting trigger out there. Their quality, fit and finish are 1st rate.
