here is how I did a couple from last year - saw the teeth off and mount on a simple board

I like the skulls cut longways thru the eyes sockets like that. Maybe even just a bit more than that. cool

I pick up one of those $2 pine oval plaques at Hobby Lobby. A little stain, tung oil.. and that's it.. I use 1 toggle bolt to mount skull to wood!

I like those skull hookers and the euromounter one posted above All my antler mounts have been done by myself in woodshop when I was in highschool. I prefer the skull at an angle on the plaque so the tines arent pointed straight out from the wall. But if you dont have to worry about many people destroying them, I like how you have them just laying around. Awesome conversation piece that you can handle and hold. Easier than taking it off the wall!

I like your idea about the rubbed fence post too. I found a cedar fence post last season that was about 6 or 7 inches in diameter and it was rubbed in the middle down to about 2" diameter.
