The question is a Constitutional one. The Constitution requires a certain set of requirements for eligibility. To date, Hussein has not provided verification of said requirements.

If it is a Constitutional question let the SCOTUS decide. Let me just say that "I know". I do not have enormous wealth but I probably have enormously more than you.
It is a political issue that is benefiting Democrats more than Conservatives. That is why ALL prominent Conservatives and Conservative publications either ignore or distance themselves from you Birthers. The SCOTUS, doesn't have original jurisdiction, Spanky. It would need to go up the ladder. Thus far, Hussein & Co have spent millions (of taxpayer dollars, I might add) to fight any suit requesting proof of his legitimacy. Instead of producing the evidence, they've simply run a defense that says no "mere citizen" has standing to require proof.
Thus, the states now passing laws requiring the same.

Pressure was mounting on Hawaii Governor Neil Abercrombie today amid increasing confusion over whether President Obama was born there. Abercrombie said on Tuesday that an investigation had unearthed papers proving Obama was born in Hawaii in 1961. He told Honolulu's Star-Advertiser: 'It actually exists in the archives, written down,' he said. But it became apparent that what had been discovered was an unspecified listing or notation of Obama's birth that someone had made in the state archives and not a birth certificate. And in the same interview Abercrombie suggested that a long-form, hospital-generated birth certificate for Barack Obama may not exist within the vital records maintained by the Hawaii Department of Health. He said efforts were still being made to track down definitive vital records that would prove Obama was born in Hawaii. Abercrombie was asked: 'You stirred up quite a controversy with your comments regarding birthers and your plan to release more information regarding President Barack Obama's birth certificate. How is that coming?' He acknowledged the birth certificate issue would have 'political implications' for the next presidential election 'that we simply cannot have'.

Phew - thanks for clearing THAT up. And, apparently, when you're rich, you think you really know what you know, even if you guess at some of the stuff you might know that you think you know. I guess....maybe... anyways, you KNOW.

Some state official whose name I can't remember (but she was a Democrat) said she had seen Obama's actual long form birth certificate. I wonder who's lying this time.
