Steve,

The centre projectile in the above pictures is a standard Remington 180gn PSP CoreLok that is available in Australia. I am unaware of the availability of the Remington Ultra Bond as a reloading component. However, it is available in Remington Factory ammo here.

My Predictions:

Best penetration: Fail Safes: 1st, Barnes X: 2nd, Nosler Partition:3rd
Best Expansion: Hornady Interlock: 1st, Northforks: 2nd Nosler Accubond 3rd
Wound Channel Volume: Northforks 1st; unsure of 2nd and 3rd.

Drew,

It appears from the side view that the Rem CoreLokt did a fine job in the expansion/holding together department. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Hey ought6,

The Remington Core-Lokt projectiles certain did performed in the mushroom department as they should. Unfortunately I couldn't get the Remington 150gn and 180gn PSPCLs to shoot under 1.7MOA out of my rifle. Partitions were horrendous in the accuracy department too (2.5MOA).

And if you were wondering how the Remington 150gn PSPCL performs......

Not too bad at all on Fallow Bucks and Wild Goats.

Curiosity has got the better of me as I have ordered a box of Nosler 180gn AccuBonds. I am very interested to see how they perform on paper and on Australian large game. I hope to nail a Sambar stag with one in September, if not, I'll nail a Wild Boar or three with 'em in October.

Regards

Drew

Whtetail,

Since all these guys are concerned about bullets and open seasons, why not do another hunt like the one in Africa?
Instead of in Africa, here in AZ or Mexico.
Here is what I am willing to do:
If there is an interest in bullet tests on game, I can get some Mexico coues deer tags at a reasonable price, and the people that want to test a particular bullet on game can do so. Then after the hunt, we can see which bullet did what and at different ranges and velocities. After the on game test, you can do your test on Jello or newspapers and also use that as a comparison. Then you as the moderator/experimentor can make a determination as to which bullet performed the best on both tests.

On this type of test, I would place a bet on the Partition or triple shock.

Dude............you could damn near kill a Coues deer with a good pellet rifle. Hardly a test for a bonded bullet. Know what I mean Vern?

Sooner or later our heritage of hunting is going to be a rich mans sport and the words "Outfitter" and "Hunt Industry" will be synonymous with cancer and A.I.D.S. among blue collar hunters like me and my family! (A.L. Williams - 2010)

Well, I'm sold!!! I tested some Nosler 150gn and 180gn AccuBonds yesterday and obtained some very impressive results. The 150gn ABs were fired from a mate's Ruger 30-06, and the 180gn ABs were fired from my Ruger 30-06.

Both projectiles are accurate and the 180gn has the same penetration in wet newsprint as the Nosler 180gn Partition. I like them!!!! Next is to try them out on game. First chance is a Sambar hunt in September and then a Pig hunt end of October.

Drew,

If you think that is good performance, you should see what a .308 200gr Accubond out of a 300RUM @3150mv does to a moose !!

I am also sold.

since i have killed deer with the accubonds and live a few miles from the nosler factory, and am using the 150gr accubond in a 308 on two deer hunts this year, i'll vote for the nosler accubond, best wound channel and penitration.
