Doug,

How are things in northern VT?

Still winter or is spring trying to break through?

My new favorite bullet is the 108 Lapua in the 260. I can get 3200 with it and Varget or Benchmark. Shoots .4 MOA at 500 yds from a Mountain rifle.

My 9 twist works just fine on 130 Accubonds, 130 Normas and the 123 Lapuas. For some reason, it doesn't like the 140 SGK.

I don't bother with TSXs as I am not elk hunting with it anyway. The 140 Partions go all the way through anything I have shot! I killed and antelope with the 120 SGK and it was perfect performance at about 300 yds. Easy caliber to find good loads for.

What are you gonna stick with that 108 Dennis?

Not a 260. I was out shooting my light 6.5x47 Lapua yesterday, a little 260 on Steroids grin, running a primer test on 100 PT with IMR 8208. For plinking purposes I picked up 500 1st run "over runs" from Nosler, cheap, a number of months back along with an 8-lb jug of IMR 8208. Via Audette ladder testing I hit two nodes, One at 3160 and the other at 3307 fps. I was testing the 3160 load with 4 different primers. All powder charges were thrown, not weighed, for purposes of simplicity and plinking load.

At 600 yds it was shooting stuff that had 3/4" vertical to 2-1/2" vertical spread running .56 MOA to .77 MOA and keeping as low as 8 SD.

Coyotes and CWT. They are quite the berries for coyotes, have yet to shoot the small deer. It is just refreshing to carry a rifle that weighs less than 7# scoped and know you are good out to 500.

Im itchin' to try the 123gr Lapua Scenar in my .260. Hoping it makes a fine Vaal Rhebok load for those windy mountains they like to hang out in.

What's the wound channel look like with these lightly constructed 100s at warp speed under 100 yards? Penetration, meat damage?

I'd like to use the 100 BT at 3100ish because it matches the trajectory of my elk rifle but I'll be using them on Blacktail and I don't want to throw away the whole front half if the shot goes higher than intended.

Those are some smokin' velocities out of a 22 inch barrel. Factory barrels? Twist?

Factory barrel, one in 8 twist...

I developed this load before Nosler put it in their manuals, they list 1/2 a grain less with an MV just short of 3300 fps..in a 22 inch barrel..

my numbers were discovered after I developed accurate loads and then as a last step chronographed them to see what I had..
and was pleasantly surprised.

I've got 139 Scenars, and 129 and 140 SST's on the bench and a 260 tube sitting in the safe. Now all I need are dies and brass and to actually screw on the tube to the Kimber!

Been wanting a 260 for a long time... must be the inner Norwegian trying to come out...

There's a few of us above 42* N Latitude. Our people are never comfortable below that grin

The 260 fits out conservative nature.

I've got a Sako 75 with an EDGE stock and a fresh Shilen 6.5 match tube on its way home now.:). Can't wait to get it to the range.

3150fps from a M7. Nuclear results. Found the bullet under the hide of opposite shoulder. Penetration was good but a little too quick expanding.

What are you using for a donor? Curious as to what tube is coming off and what's happening to it wink .

Isn't the 100 Spire Point tougher than the BT?

I just read last months thread too, good to see all this interest in the 260.
