Rem 700 long action with Conquest 4.5-14x44, and was lookig at the Burris Signature DD rings. Will the medium be high enough?

Thanks!

Probably unless you mount your scope way back. That is a pretty long scope

Not totally applicable to your situation but my 4.5-14x42 Burris FFII would not fit in medium height Burris Sig rings on my Savage LA 111.

My PacNor #3 contour is probably a bit larger than your Rem barrel though.

It will be close.

According to Burris' web site, it should be ok, but even if the objective clears, will the bolt clear?

Will clear with the Weaver style rings. Not sure on the DD rings.

Don't know if this will help, but this is a Leupold 4.5-14x40 LR mounted with Leupold DD and Burris Sig Medium Rings

Great photo and great example...the gun I'm asking about is also a 257 Wby. It looks like there should be enough room for the 44mm objective. Did you have enough room from to back? I was checking last night and it looks like the reversible base may have to be used just to be sure.

Be careful - that 1 inch tube will sit lower and you have a larger objective. The math suggests it will sit about .17 inches lower when you factor the smaller tube and larger objective. The leupold LR is a 30mm tube

Good luck

I would still bet money that the Mediums will be fine? As noted in my earlier pic there is still quite a bit of room. Don't know if the 30mm will sit lower or higher though? Maybe as shortmagfan points out the 30mm will indeed be a bit higher?

Front to back, here's a better pic. No problems for me at least.

Like Shortmag says, due to the difference between the 25mm (1 inch) Zeiss tube and the 30mm Leupy tube the Zeiss will sit 2 to 2.5 mm (.078" to .098")lower.
Then the 4mm larger objective on the Zeiss would be 2mm closer to the barrel than your Leupy.

The result is that the objective of the Zeiss will be almost 3/16th" closer to the barrel.

Like I said in my first post in this thread, it will be close.

Should be okay, but real close. I have a Zeiss 3.5X10X44 mounted in medium Leup DD rings and I have plenty of clearance. Your scope is a little longer, so there will be a little difference in the clearance. Here is a picture of mine with a CDL SF mag barrel.

Thanks for all the great responses! In the midst of my research, I've thrown Talley LW 1 piece mounts into the mix as an option. Dammit! Too many choices...I don't like the appearance of the Talley's as much, but I do like the concept of the ring integrated into the base.

My head hurts all of a sudden....

Can't say for sure about the dual dovetails, but the medium Signature Zee rings are plenty high enough.
