I am really surprised that no one has said Winchester Mod. 94. Well they certainly seem to like the Mod. 70...

Per some pundits on here, these would mostly be folks with very low accuracy requirements....never shoot anything beyond 100 yards, stay East of the Mississippi, and drool incessantly.

Out of the top three I'd take the Ruger 77 MKII.

Mine's a Ruger Mark II Ultralite boat paddle in 30-06 with a 2-7 elite. Does all I've asked of it.
It's good to lead - it's better to lead by example.

If there is any proof of a man in a hunt it is not whether he killed a deer or elk but how he hunted it.

This coming season it will be a stainless Ruger 77 Hawkeye Compact Magnum in .300 RCM with a Sightron SII 2.5-8x42
Guns don't kill people, it's mostly the bullets

Classic Sporter Stainless M70 in 30-06.
I do use a pre-'64 94 from time to time. Use of optics are what make the M70 an all around better choice for me. There will never be a scope on the old '94.

One of my many Ruger #1Bs. The caliber depends on the type of game that I am after.
