There isnt much around here over .416 ... You sure? The No1 is a mate's 577NE, the bolt gun is my 458AccRel. Other mate has both 458AccRel and 500AccRel ... and is building the first 600 OverKill in Australia. Another guy I know has a 585Nyati. Must be a Victorian thing. Nah ... cant be ... mate in NSW has a 500AccRel and is building a 12GFH (short). Cheers... Con

Damn! Yall's guns use my .375 for bait.
It's only a name. It could just as easily have been Nosler Partition.

Ah, XXXX. Sweet memories, or at least the ones I can remember are sweet. I have a can I brought home with me in '86. Guess I ought to get around to drinking it. Brought home an empty Darwin Stubbie, too.

Darwin stubbies are on sale for keep sake use only now, apparently a 2 litre beer promotes binge drinking....
First 50 shots out of the rifle today, feels good, moderate recoil, but shot to the right so bad that the windage dial was on near the stopper and still needed more. Any suggestions ?

The few times I had that problem, I switched rings until I had the zigs and zags lined up.

I did swap positions of the rings before I returned to work unfortunatley I didn't have time to test it. I took it to a well regarded gunsmith to have the saftey tang smoothed as the .500 A square No1 I shot tore up my thumb and has left me with a paranoia of the same thing happening with this one. He will bore sight the scope for me and line bore the rings if needs be.

Sweet as man what calibre is it ? I am about to order a 1H 450, should only take 12-18 months to get here, only three weeks to go untill some serious range time with the 300.

Hi guys, I have been pretty busy lately but I found time to fit my Bell and Carlson stock, unfortunatley between weather, work and family commitments I haven't had a chance to fire it. I had it bore sighted by the gunsmith and the saftey tang smoothed, he had to add a .010 shim to the left side of the rear ring to get enough windage for adjustment, very odd... Gday all ! Its been a long wet season and the sun is out now, the game is thick and healthy and I have just lodged a Permit to acquire for my 1H450 ! My Bell and Carlson stock was a bit of a turnout ! When there was a break in the weather I went out into the field to test her out and to my dismay I was having multiple misfires !!!! Thinking I had buggered up when handloading I tried factroy ammo but to no avail. It turns out that the channel in the fore-end where the hammer spring sits was a lttle too snug and ever so slightly fouling. So with a very sharp narrow timber chisel I relieved the channel and radiused the edges with a small round file. And a can or two of xxxx after the job was done of course. Thats as far as I got, bloody rain and work got in the way again ! Some friends who have been lucky enough to go for a hunt reckon that they haven't seen as much game for 10 years !! Stuck at work for another 2 weeks sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet !

Finally recieved my rifle in june, man what a great bit of gear ! I've been out twice with it for load development and trimming in. Its a great snap shooter, easy enough to throw up to the shoulder and shoot a 2ft x 2ft object at 150 yards. Recently we used a chrony in the load development process. The Hornady 400gr DGX factory ammo is advertised as doing 2050 fps and on a 4 round average it yielded 1911fps. The fastest hand load was 1950 fps average and that was Hornady 400gr DGX pill over 78gr of ADI 2213sc with a CCI large rifle primer. Heavier charges did not yield greater velocities, they actually went slower. While I am happy with the accuracy of the rifle it seems a bit sleepy compared to some of the advertised loads around, would anyone care to share their favourite recepies ? I am having a hard time find load data on the net. As a side note we dug some of the projectiles out of the back stop mound, they showed really well controlled expansion and weight retention of 60-70 %
