The gov't hasn't run away from the fact that this was a mission that was likely to be a kill mission.
Bad move on UBLs part not being strapped 24/7. Not that it would have mattered.
Not at all unrealistic to think he had rigged that place to blow sky high, and had a detonator nearby. He shouldn't have been given ANY quarter.

At least, two people read the original post and follow-up. (I'm not at all surprised at who they are, either.)
My point is that the WHITEHOUSE, not the media, reported that Obama was killed in a "firefight". Then, that he was unarmed, then that he looked like he may had wanted to get a gun. Why not just tell the truth to begin with?

Last time I checked, execution isn't about giving the criminal a sporting chance by arming him. That said, were I the so-called leader of an international terrorist organization, I would not only be well-armed at all times, but would surround myself with a cadre of the most dedicated and skilled fighters in my organization, as well as wiring my entire compound to blow sky high in order to deny the assaulters any useful intelligence, should my side lose the fight. For what the MSM made him out to be, I say bin laden was a shmuck who had little idea of how to run a fight against a technologically superior foe, and I dare say he acted like a man who felt he has little to fear, or was simply a total moron with no clue about the caliber of enemies he had chosen. What a 'tard. I'm just glad he's no longer wasting my air.

Could killed in a firefight meant that there was a firefight between the seals and the other people in the compound, and not necessarily with UBL? Which led people to believe that UBL was armed. Personally I never herd that he was armed then not, just that there was a firefight, which there was.
