I have a stainless Remington 700 XCR with a McMillan Mountain Rifle stock (painted olive) in 375HH that I have been considering putting on the market. It has a Leupold Vari-X III 1.75-6 in Leupold DD mounts. Total package weight is 8 lbs 4 oz. The whole pkg for $1200.00 shipped to your FFL. If interested, shoot me a PM. I can get pics to you too.

won't be sitting in a corner for 10 years until I go to africa P. good on you. Not many folks get to go by the time they are 27. Familys, careers - lifes even tend to get in the way. Keep us posted on your build.

Keep us posted on your build. well i'm 25 now. Money seems to be the biggest problem now haha. Well I'm not a big fan of africa anyway... too hot for me. I'd rather travel through europe and russia.

Cabelas in Rogers Minnesota has a pristine Browning Safari Grade .458 Magnum for $1500.
It is a bargain compared to any new rifle on the market IMO.

So far i've decided on the following features for my custom rifle from E R SHAW:
1)24" 458 lott, stainless matte finish, no fluting, not sure of how to contour it yet have to talk to sales rep when he gets back from vacation next week
2)They use a savage 110 action supposedly, and I am requesting a controlled round feed action. In stainless matte
3) custom iron sights, probably from new england custom guns, I like their express sights, will go to a local gunsmith for this
4) barrel band will go to local gunsmith
5) Weaver base
6) synthetic stock
anything else such as trigger can be modified also, but will see how stock trigger works
they quoted me at 775 for the rifle with the features above
(no iron sights, no barrel band, no weaver). not a bad price.

UPDATE, they can't build it the way i want, so i'm gonna either buy a 416 ruger alaskan or a cz550 american safari in 458 lott... not sure which yet, at some point i'd like both
