Bears are about as tough to get good pictures of as anything...always take more than a few..I'm into selftimed shots. I'll take them even when someone else is there.

I was hunting solo when I connected this buck at mid morning and had all day to get the pictures, cape, bone and pack him back to the pickup...It was a little more of a challenge back before digital camera's hit the scene to get good field pics. You never knew what you had until the were developed.

You have the market cornered on some cool photos...

I wish I would have taken more time with many of my early photos.

Thanks Buzz!......nothing wrong with the one's you hang either! I probably hold as much personal value in the field pictures as I do in the trophies themselves.

When remembering a hunt I always think of the packing. It's the most work, but enjoyable to me. I always try to get pics that show the sweat that went into a hunt.

Here I am carrying out an entire bone-in mule deer. this is when I decided to buy a real pack.
[Linked Image]

Here's most of a whitetail from the same spot a year later. I remember how glad I was that I had a better pack than the year before.
[Linked Image]

And this pic reminds me of how absurdly cold I got in Colorado.
[Linked Image]

Sorry for the hijack of non-critter pics, just a reminder to take the camera out even when you're not standing next to something bloody.

I got a pretty decent action sequence last year watching the Old Man. Got a little bit of everything.

The Old Man grumbled a bit when I wanted to drag the Lope up to the top of the hill but I like the blue sky background. Just need to work on my shaded faces.
