Was thumbing through the Remington catalog today and was looking at thier pheasant loads. Their Nitro Pheasant Loads loaded with copper plated lead shot are 2 3/4" shells with 1 1/4 ounces of #4,5,or 6 shot. launched at 1400 fps.

The 20 gauge is 2 3/4" with 1 ounce of #5 or 6 shot launched at 1300 fps.

Anybody ever tried these? Sound like a hell of a load. And great for those guns that only shoot 2 3/4" shells.

They knock birds down hard they are pretty much a turkey load in a 25 round box. They are pricey but if you only shoot pheasants not doves and squirrels a box should last for a while but they aren't needed to kill pheasants either.

That true adam. I'm still working on my first box of shells for pheasant, a box of the winchester drylock. 2 birds a day 4 total. I still got 10 more shells to go.

Federal has a similar Premium load. They are absolutely lethal. I think I was buying it for under $10 per box at Reed's in Walker, MN last fall.
