really 250-3000s over Early winchester calibers?
I think you will find that this list is going to very greatly from collector to collector... there is no list.... buy what YOU like and are willing to pay...

A,B,C,F,G,H,and K's. Matter of fact, probably any that you don't have. Condition and/or rarity makes the call. How do you put an order to collecting? Hyperthetically, I'm looking for a pristine G, do I pass all others till I find it? I think not.

Everybody here is going to have a different list. Personally my favorites are the guns made between the wars. Especially the E's, F's, G's, H Carbines, K's, R's, RS's EG's and T's. Oh and pre mil post war F's. Guess that's more than 5 isn't it. That is the problem with these damn things.

Johno Only one? I'd be very satisfied with "only one" pre war checkered F

Rifles ordered with cheekpiece stocks and also special wood like Romac's birdseye maple stock. Also, SRC's with special order features are especially, "collectable" in my book. Extra fancy checkering is a big draw as well.

Sometimes when I am staring at a vintage Savage catalog and all the possible special order features I often think about what I would order if I could take a time machine back 100+ years. I'm sure I would have the guys in the Savage plant scratching their heads over the odd combinations I'd come up with. For example a M1899F in .38/55 with checkpiece stock in the highest grade burl available. Oh, and I would specify on the order form: "with small barrel band"
