How about 47.8 grains of Varget under a 155 in WW brass?

I tried RE 15 with the 150 Accubond today. Worked up to 47 grains with cci 200 primers and RP brass. The 4 shot group with 47 grains went 0.6 inches. The first three shots were touching and I opened it up on the 4th shot. RE 15 made a good first impression! Will try it again this weekend with the chrony and run it against Varget. I must say though I have probably averaged around 1 inch with Varget and the 150 accubonds over the past 2 years and have never shot a group as tight as the 47 grain load today.
Sounds pretty good. That's pretty much the same load I run except I use the hornady sp interlocks because they are cheaper and I know what they will do to a deer: Complete pass thrus and dead deer. What more could you ask for . I don't mind paying the $22.00/100 for those bullets.
I try to stick with the basics, they do so well. Nothing fancy mind you, just plain jane will get it done with style. You want to see an animal drop right now? Shoot him in the ear hole. BSA MAGA

Willing to bet you will be plenty satisfied with RL-15 when you get out the chrony.

I just bought 300 of those 150 gr hornady SP bullets. I am also a big fan of the 165 BTSP.

How are your pressures on the 47 grain load? That is starting to get really warm in a 308 with a 150 grain bullet. I shoot 46.3 grain RL-15, Federal brass, 210M primer and a 150 ballistic tip. Very accurate load but definitely warm. Yeah, fed brass holds less than Rem or Win brass(just tested that last week), change your brass, also try a CCIBR primer. Just loaded up to 47grs RE15 today for some 155 Amaxs. We'll see how they shoot some day.

It's not the grain-charge as much as the velocity one is getting. It's no trick to get 2,800 fps with a 150 in a 22" bbl'd 308 Win. IME, you can keep adding powder til you get to 2,800 - 2,820 fps. Some manuals show as much as 49.0 gr's RL15 with 150's. 47.0 is the "standard" RL15 150/308/2,800 fps load, but w/out a chronograph you're in the dark.
