I finally had a 700 Mountain Rifle 270 rebarreled to 257Roberts. I have been very happy with it since day one. Bevan King in BC made and installed the bbl. Later had the MR stock swapped out to a TI take off. I now like it even more. Long action vs short action. < trolling >

257wthbylover Campfire Regular 2 Joined: Jul 2010 Posts: 1,713 SW Iowa	i know this is not a Mtn Rifle.... but i was just at Cabelas in Omaha (Lavista) Nebraska and they had a Rem. 700 CDL SS Fluted there in their library. The wood had a couple nicks in it, but otherwise dang good shape. Just a lead on something realllly close. I handled it and it felt great. I am a light weight rifle fan as well, and there wasnt too bad.
