Hi Folks, Does anyone have a recommendation for a bullet for a .250-3000 with the 1-10 twist (as in a 14 Classic)in 100 grain or heavier? I took y'all's suggestions for the 87 grain HotCor bullets for the 1-14 twist, and it works fantastic with 3031. I am pondering a 1-10 barrel in a 14 Classic, and was wondering what y'all are finding accurate in 100 grains or greater? Any advice or suggestions would be great appreciated. smile God Bless, Marc

Hornady 100 grain SP/33.5 grains of H-4895 (2837 fps) works to perfection in my 700 Classic. Very, very seldom will shoot a group larger than 3/4 inch. First load I tried so load work-up wasn't a problem. grin

I have had excellent accuracy and deer killing ability with the Sierra 117 grain Pro Hunter behind Reloder 15 powder. I use this round in my Savage Model 110 WLE in 250-3000 with a one in ten twist barrel. Tack driver with 85 grain Nosler BT, one ragged hole at 100 meters. I have also had ragged one shot groups with the 117 grain if I do my part and it is a calm day.

In my Model 14 250 Classic both Barnes 85 & 100 grain bullets print equally well. My go to powder remains H4895 and the loads are as follows:

85 gr. TTSXs & 34.5gr. H4895

100 gr. TSXs & 35gr. H4895

Results may vary. wink
