Tried search, with no luck.

It looks like an excellent powder for my 257 Roberts, based on the Hodgdon data. The large dealer in town had none in stock last week. Not a total loss tho. I picked up some Trail Boss while I was there.

Is anybody using the H100V, and does it attain the published figures in a 22-24" barrel?
Thanx

It is excellent in my .25 Souper (.25-.308). I don't have my data in front of me but both velocity and accuracy was very good.

I have done a little testing of Hyb100V in my 257 Robts Kimber Montana (22" brl.). The results so far are excellent and I plan to do more testing.

With the 80 gr TTSX and 47.0 gr H100V velocity was 3255 and accuracy was excellent. This was higher than expected as the book said Max 49.0 @3282, so I stopped at 47.0 since the accuracy was so good, and equal to the best previous accuracy load of IMR-4350 with this bullet in this gun, but not as fast at 3153 fps.

With the 100 gr E-Tip bullet 44.0 gr gave 2959 fps which is very close to what I expected, with accuracy comparable to other powders.

I plan to try Hyb100V with other bullets, and in other guns as time allows. It seems to be a good powder in the .257 Robts.

I've tried in the 300 SAUM and WSM under 180 grain bullets. Velocity was bit more than H4350 but not as accurate. Book velocity was obtainable using book loads.

I have used it in a 6mm Rem and a 7mm SAUM. Both guns got higher velocity with 100V than other powders, the 6mm got much more. Accuracy was better in the 6mm and about the same in the 7mm as with other powders.

I may build a 257 Roberts this summer and will try it and see how it does.

I regret that my memory has failed me again. The results I was referring to was with IMR 4007SSC and not H100V. I have not tried H100V in the Souper but may in the future. I'm thinking it might be a bit slow for top velocities though.

Sorry for the misinformation posted. blush

I've got an unopened jug of H100V sitting in the gun room, I plan on trying some loads with it in my .260.

I tried some in my 260, didnt see any increase in velocity. Accuracy was the same, but my 260 shoots anything I try in it with great accuracy. I saw 2898 with a Speer 120, my favorite load shoots 2877 with the same bullet with RE-19.

I've burned almost a pound of h100v this spring in my .257Rob Ruger m77, but I keep coming back to RL19 as being the more accurate, at least with 117grn Interlocks and 115grn Ballistic Tips in my rifle.

I really wanted that extra 200fps too.

I still may try to work up a load with h100v and the 100grn TTSX.

I did shoot some nice groups(.7"), but then got some crummy groups (1.25"+)while burning 45.5grn of h100v, it just seemed inconsistant. The RL19 at 43.5grn groups have been very consistant at .7".

I also shot some 115bt's into a .223" group at 43.5grn of h100v, and then never got that recipe within 1" of that again. Kinda frustrating. I still like the thought of my .257Bob pushing the 115bt to 3000fps though, but it's tough not to go with the more accurate load, even though it is slower.

I tried it in my Ruger 257 and had no luck. Accuracy was all over the place. Turned out that the rifle only liked H4831sc.

I don't have any experience with it in a Roberts but run it in a 6-284 and it is both fast and accruate with both 87's and 95's. Actually it is the quickest and most accurate powder I have tested in 2, 6MM-284's

I've used it in my 6.5-284 and results were, for all intents and purposes, identical to RL17. Fast, accurate and clean (was pushing 140 and 142 grainers) with nearly identical charge weights.

Unfortunately, it's about the only Hodgdon powder the local Sportsmans Warehouse doesn't carry. When I get up to Boise, I'm going to grab some more. As of now I use RL17 and MAGPRO.

P.S. I was able to get 3000 fps with max loads out of my 24" barrel
