I just got a new 22hp takedown mfgr 1914. Can anyone tell me how theses L&B 5.6 x52 rounds might fire thru this sweet baby. I have heard something about savage tooling around with the barrel sizing. That could not be part of the year model could it?

Weren't those .228" in diameter? If so, Hornady does a run of those from time to time (not the ammo, just the projectiles). I have no idea about L&B ammo, but I think the cases can be made from .30/30 cases.
You can roll a turd in peanuts, dip it in chocolate, and it still ain't no damn Baby Ruth.

not sure what you mean about tooling around with barrel sizing....22 HP is and always was .228 diameter bullet. Norma loads it, as does, or did, L&B and I think Kynoch as well. assuming your rifle is in safe condition for use, any of them will work. here's a little info from Chuck Hawk's site: http://www.chuckhawks.com/5-6x52r.htm

Thankyou all for the imfo. I guess I will just have to see at the range, after a little tang -relief with some shim stock.
