Just sighted in my AR with the D-740 Gen 3 Night Scope. Rifle is a 16 inch M4 I built on a LH Stag Upper and Stag Lower. This rifle loves 26 gr of Varget and the Hornady 60 gr V-Max.

Very nice setup. You now have a 12lb shooter

The rifle and scope without loaded magazine weights 9 lb 2 oz on my Digital Scales. Scope itself weight is 2 lb 6 oz
I just ordered a CRT Magpul Cheek Riser 1/4 inch and the RVG Magpul Rail Vertical Grip to make the rifle fit better for night use.

Lots. When I checked about a year ago, a full quality NV package was about $8,000. If it were legal in more places I'd buy it. In the places I have a lot of land to hunt it's illegal, in places where I have little land to hunt it's legal, but only for 2 months out of the year. Too much $$ for too little possible use.

Check here. The D-740's range all over the place because you can get Gen 2 or 3, gated, non-gated etc. http://www.tnvc.com/shop/category/night-vision-scopes/The price/performance ratio is alive and well in night vision scopes. Fast Ed

Love my lefty Stag! I kept it simple- nothing but Diamondhead premium flip sights and the addition of the Hogue grip- (awesome sights BTW). Mine is a Model 3HL sitting atop the collapsible stock Stag lower. No play between the two and I know the play this platform can have having served in the Corps. No need for the added weight of a carry handle or front-sight post and certainly no need for a bayonet lug. I chose to keep it a lean, mean fightin' machine living in dense woodlands and owning chickens (gotta' protect your peeps!) Ignore the sling, it's cheap and temporary. Maybe some optics later but the Corps didn't give me optics back in the 80's, they taught me to do the deed with an iron sight sight picture; I'm repaying the favor. One tight rifle.
