Of course condition is important. You might check on gunbroker or gunsamerica and see what they are selling for.

There has been a FN Belguin on AA for that last 3~4wk priced at $375 with no bids. It looks >90% wood and metal. Its a top feed and 22Short. If I wanted an older Browning I'd be happy with the FN at that price.

I have no interest in that auction; just passing the info.

edit:
Oh yeah you ain't gonna find a Belguin Browning at twice that price.

Price will depend on how "early" too.

We paid $375 for a 1961 model in 95% plus condition two years ago and thought it was a excellent deal. Have seen a few at gun shows, Belgian made, some 60's vintage, within $100 of that price, since. Then some guys will want $750 too, so the market like most things is wide open, and buyer beware

Yeah a month or more back a FN Belguin went for over $700 on GB. A Belguin FN or Browning in any San Antonio GS will go depending on condition for $1000 and up.

Whaoh! Picked this one up off the net locally for the wife's BD couple of years ago. Just looked it over real close and it is mint except a 4X Bushnell scope mounted that may or may not have left a mark.
Had no idea they were bringing those prices. We'll be watching the tables closer from now on.

Not w/o knowing the Grade (I, II, II, etc) and the remaining % of original factory finish on wood/metal, plus it's mechanical operating condition, including known defects - like a cracked buttstock from some onnocent using it as a takedown handle.

Also, what type of rear barrel sight does it have ?

I would say it is in pristine condition, for both the metal and the wood. It has a fold down rear sight.
