I entered this deer into a Canada wide contest called Miss Huntfest 2011. It's affiliated through Wild TV and so far I am WINNING!! Final voting poll is in early July. I know it's not HUGE, but I am so proud of this buck. I patterned him for 2 weeks and my season ended on opening day when I got him. He is very old, he was grey compared to the other deer and only 1 tooth left.

Shelly: Great buck! Congrats! smile

I just love hunting; favorites are waterfowl, whitetail, rabbit, and turkey (turkey is the most challenging for me, rabbit the most social/fun).

Spring Turkey, certified idiot about it.

They say everything happens for a reason.
For me that reason is usually because I've made some bad decisions that I need to pay for.

I have always been a meat hunter. When the freezer is packed, I kinda lose interest in killing things.

Whitetail deer, now.

Bobwhite quail was my passion in the 60's-70's. I had dogs, took vacation, and would hunt every day right in this area.

Pheasant hunting was 400mi away. My Dad and I only missed one year in a 21yr span, hunting pheasants together. The missed year was due sickness in the family.

Life is good.

Been lucky enough to have hunted all around the world, but spring gobblers still makes my heart pound out of my chest!

Pheasants, but it boils down to watching pointing dogs hunt. Between wild birds and preserves we can hunt 6-7 months of the year and work dogs the rest of the time. Even practicing is a lot like the real thing.
