Has anyone purchased reproduction stocks from Gunville/Silver Hill Company? Have you used their stock fitting and finishing services? I'm looking for someone who has experience dealing with this company.

I puchased a stock from Silver Hill and did the finishing myself. The wood was good quality and the inletting was mostly OK. However, to say that they are 98% shaped is a stretch. Mine was very roughly cut to the shape of the origional stock. To match the factory stock dimensions, I'll bet that I removed 20% of the wood on the stock. The stock that I got had lots of of extra material. I made a decent stock that matches the factory stock, but it was a lot of work with a cabinet scraper.

Make sure that you let the wood dry for a long time before working on it. Mine dried for 3 months, but it should have been longer.
