Well I swore up and down that I wasn't going to buy another stove but after reading about the improvements that they made with the SOL Ti I couldn't resist it. Looking forward to adding it to my new collection of gear. EMS has the best price going, $119 with discounts. Grab one before their gone. http://www.ems.com/product/index.jsp?productId=10801979&cp=3677338.11359843.11478400
That's ok, I'll ass shoot a dink.

What's the verdict vs. the OG Jetboil? Unless that thing has coffee ready before I wake up, I can't see much improvement.

It kicked the chit out of 9 other stoves i tested it against! The closest in boil timr was 49 seconds away....that was at 6,000 and 11,000 feet. I was impressed at how much it has improved over the old model.

Yup. It's my next purchase. REI is out right now but when they're back in stock I have a 15% off coupon and a $100 gift certificate!

Anyone have any comments on how this performs compared to a Primus ETA Solo?
I've gotta decide on a Primus ETA Solo or a Jetboil or Jetboil Sol.....thoughts?

Aron,
Can you comment on how the Eta SOLO performed? Is it an obvious choice with the Jetboil SOL?

Sweet....guess the SOL it is....
I had heard good things on the ETA Solo but obviously Jetboil is great stuff. I can trust the testing you did and live with that!
Did you do a report or have a link to your testing? Or was it just personal testing?

Right on AKMNTHNTR, that will be a sweet stove indeed when you are out chasing rams this fall. Smaller, lighter, and cooks faster is never a bad thing

With both having the same components, the PCS weighs 15 ounces compared to 9.7 ounces for the SOL Ti. That wasn't what made me buy one, it was the improvement of the regulator PLUS the loss of weight that did it for me. According to Jetboils specs, the Ti burns a tad slower (2 minutes 15 seconds compared to 2 minutes for the PCS) but that's something I can live with.
That's ok, I'll ass shoot a dink.
