Hmm - Sold my '84 Citation X-11 at 275,000 - still on the original clutch. 1990 Pontiac 6000SE gave up at 365,000. '94 Mazda B4000 at 240,000, runs great, but is rusting. Wife's 2003 Corolla pooped a tranny at 250,000. 2005 GTO at 79,000. Did also have a 1981 BMW R100RS that I sold at 150,000. Used to drive a lot. Not so much anymore....

My dad was a mechanic for the USAF and said the same thing about the D50. It ran forever. It was a freak of a machine.

I got 243,00 on a 1986 Pontiac Grand Pariesiane.

Over 200,000 of those miles were highway miles and put on in four years time. It was "toast" by the time I got done with it.

All of our family vehicles are Honda, three of the four have over 100K on them. We've had an Accord and an Odyssey van that we've put nearly 200K on. I spoke to a Honda employee who worked at the Ohio assembly plant, she had seen one with a documented 500K on it that was still running strong. Change the oil and the timing belt and Honda engines seem to run forever.

The one and only new car I've ever purchased was a 1994 Isuzu Rodeo. I drove it for seven years and was in an accident where it was totaled with right around 120k on it (rear ended). I bought it back from the insurance company and drove it for another 2 years before selling it to my brother-in-law. He drove it for another couple years and passed it along to his brother and it's still on the road with well over 200k and still on the original clutch and I think it's had two sets of brakes.

My dad has an '89 Izusu extended cab 4x4 pick-up that just turned over 275k. He's had to replace the clutch a couple times and the electric window motors don't last worth chitt, but the motor and transmission purrs right along. He just turned 70 and says it's the best vehicle he's ever owned.

My wife and I had a toyota avalon with 200k on it...with bsically no trouble except a battery, windshield wiper replacement. timing belt and the front rotors. My 18 year old has it now and it is still running. My brother has owned/ owns 1/2 dozen toyota pickups not counting the ones he has sold.. the most he got out of a 4 banger was 350 k . He may beat them up but he takes care of them as well.

89 GMC 1500 TBI 350 221,000 miles on it right now. Had the tranny rebuilt at 170,000 but haven't done a thing to the engine, still running strong. Last summer I replaced the whole cooling system: waterpump, hoses, thermostat, radiator basically everything but the heater core. That was the most work it has had done under the hood in 20 years. Just routine maintainence keeps them going, that and not dogging them.

They wife drives a 2007 Ford Focus that just turned over 100,000 miles this week. I think it is time to get its timing belt changed and that will be the first thing done to it other than an alternator replaced under waranty.

I have a 1998 Ford F-150 pickup that currently has 280,000 miles on it and it still runs great.

I drive it easy and keep the oil changed (Mobil-1 synthetic)

I'm still driving a 95 Honda Passport, same thing as the Izuzu. The Honda has 75,000 miles on it, replaced the battery a couple of times, change the oil every 2,000 to 2,500 miles. I have a long commute to work every morning of a half mile.
Also have an 2001 Ford, the small, pickup with 200,000, that Son-in-Law and I share for hauling mulch, lumber, etc.

Currently a 2002 Z71 Chevy Silverado 1500 with 175,000.
Only failure was a battery and a driveshaft that I high centered.

Dad bought an '88 Toyota 2wd, 22r engine new. He put 160,000 on it, then I got it for high school and college. I put another 120,000 on it before giving it back to him. He drove it around the farm for a few months before selling it. Saw it around town for a few years after that. He had the carb reworked when he was driving it, and I put on 2 starters, belts, and a thermostat because it took so long to get warm in winter (stuck open). All the drivetrain was still original.

After the Toyota, I bought a new 2003 GMC Z71. It just hit 198,000 miles this week. I've had the water pump rebuilt, a pair of catalytic converters, u-joints, and some door module was replaced under warranty. Truck still looks great and runs fine, still as good of mileage as when it was new.

My daily driver now is a 2001 Honda Civic, the wife bought it cheap with 90,000 miles on it, it had been totalled and rebuilt. It has 150,000 miles on it now, and just last month or so I had to have a new fuel pump. Other than that nothing in 60,000 miles and it gets 38mpg rather than the 16/17 like our trucks. I hate that little car.

2003 Toyota Corolla with 220,000 on it. Seems to have lots of life left and no problems so far.

We recently traded off a Chevy Malibu with 74,000 on it because it was starting to nickel and dime us to death and the Corolla with way over twice the miles is more dependable.

I routinely keep pickups in our fleet that go to near 300,000 miles.
Time, use, and paying the repair bills have weeded it to one brand - Chevrolet.

My last one went to 300,000, and the engine (6.0 liter) was still untouched when the transfer case went out. I replaced it with a 1/2 ton with a 5.3 liter. We'll see. Right at 35,000 on this one with zero problems, and carbon copy pickups in our fleet are over 100,000 with only base maintainance.

Best personal vehicle is a tossup between a 'Yota with an R22 engine, and an old 150 with an inline six-cylinder. I still own the ferrd. Doesn't have enough power to get out of it's own way, sucks gas like it owns it's own refinery, rusted in every way - but just starts, and runs, and runs, and runs.

Dad's 2000 F150 had 320K on it when he got rid of it. Repairs were: normal maintenance, alternator, several sets of brakes, 1 rear end. Great truck. Gov't Motors keeps me from ever having another GM product and I loved the Z71's.
