I didn't take any of these, just posting for Pam because she doesn't have a photobucket account.

.

TinyPics image posting is easier and free. And the images stay with the post and are not deleted after a short time as with photobucket.

My photobucket account is a free one, (hence the pic quality & size reduction) But I've not had a pic deleted for the years I've had the account.

I cropped these too tight, I guess I liked the contrast of the iris/pine needles and knew the pics would be limited in viewing size posted here so I cropped at 100% with the iris photos.

lighting was fair, late day for the lady slipper pics. I'm not certain what to tell her as to what she could have done to get those a little sharper. I tried my hand at photographing a lady slipper a couple of weeks ago and I wasn't happy with any of the shots I got. Hers are better than mine where, but it's maybe better suited for a macro lens or a 50 prime f1.4?

She shot these with a 24-105 f4, uncertain where she was set with her lens and she was probably shooting on auto, maybe not, I can ask her.

I'm fishing for clues here so help a brother out lol!

Did your wife use a tripod and remote release? Any sharpening in post processing? Maybe use something to block any breeze that may be moving the flower slightly.

no post processing, just cropped

shot freehand, no rest ar even a brace available. I get what you are saying though, reduce movement on both the subject and the camera. Good points, obvious now that you point it out but not wasted on me.

Thanks

I know she checks these posts when I share her pics. She don't post much but she lurks grin
