I've got all of the Kuiu gear except the packs or raingear and so far I'm impressed with all of it. But the true test will be in Sept when I'm hunting deer/elk with my longbow.

For a meat hauling pack, check Mystery Ranch's NICE frame with their Load Sling, works very well.

It was raining pretty good yesterday, and my parents wanted to go for a hike... So we went up flattop, a little hill behind town that is a really popular hike, but has a little bit of elevation gain to at least make it a workout with a pack.

I wore the attack pants and the guide jacket. The jacket vents well through the pit vents, and I was able to get to the top without overheating. The hood was great, my head stayed nice and dry the whole time, and I could actually see. The pants were really comfortable, no overheating issues at that temp range (45 degrees at the parking lot). Given, I was with my parents, who are in their 70's and wearing borrowed boots and raingear, so I wasn't moving very fast.

I did get wet however. The jacket soaked through under the pack straps, and the pants... well, they have holes where you put your hands in the pockets. So, my shoulders were wet, and my knees were wet from rain getting through the pockets. I stayed pretty comfortable despite that.

The stuff dries fairly quickly, but not exactly instantly. If it were raingear, I'd be pissed, but I don't think anyone puts 6 pockets in rain pants.

Man, what were you doing NOT wearing rain gear yesterday?? lol

Just ribbing you man, at least you got out! Did you happen to get the other piece of gear that is suppose to act as rain gear? I need something soon and if I don't find something, it's Impertech for another season!

Had my parents out there in HH jackets and jeans. They refused to wear bibs, and regretted it.

I did not order the Chugach stuff (in spite of the fact that all of the pics on this thread are from the Chugach mountains). Plan on running some thin Patagonia "raingear" for my Brooks trip, and Impertech everywhere else.

Maybe when I hit the lottery, I'll give the Chugach a try.

Figured I'd dust this thread off to post a couple pics of the camo in its element, for people that care about camo.

That is effective camo, to say the least.
