Senator Mike Enzi of Wyoming replied to my email concerning "Fast and Furious" along with gun control measures being considered by the regime:
Dear Jerry:
The House Oversight and Government Reform Committee recently had a hearing on the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (BATFE) Mexican Gun Trafficking Program, also known as Operation Fast and Furious. This program ultimately allowed guns to find their way into the hands of known criminals along the U.S. border with Mexico. The committee is continuing to investigate who ultimately authorized the program, who knew about it and why it took the murder of a border patrol agent, Agent Brian Terry, and a congressional inquiry before administration officials cancelled the program.
I have been and will continue to be a defender of the right of the American people to keep and bear arms. When considering firearms legislation, I have a twofold mission. The first is to stop any new legislation that would limit the right to own firearms by law-abiding citizens. The second is to ensure that old legislation and current laws which harm Second Amendment rights are addressed appropriately. Should an executive order or regulation be issued restricting our gun rights, I will not waiver in my convictions.
Sincerely,
Michael B. Enzi
United States Senator
