I have a Lyman Alaskan scope with a 34xx serial number that is in great shape except for the reticle. The reticle is a german post and wire and the post is moved over to the right just out of center but still straight up and down with a perfectly horizontal crosswire. My question is can it be repaired and by whom other than Lyman if they do not. I have sent Lyman an e-mail but I wanted to get some opinions from this knowledgeable group too.
Also, any ideas on value?
Thanks for any input.

Go here: Parson's Scope Service. It's my understanding that they purchased all the tooling & eqt. from Lyman's shop. Richard rebuilt my Dad's Alaskan back then, & he did a tremendous job on it. He's a heck of a guy. FC

Not 100% certain about this, but like most other scopes of that era, I don't think the Alaskans had a constant centered reticule,.
Try adjusting the windage, and see if the post moves back to the center.

Thanks for the link FC, I called them and will send it to them for repair.
Yukoner, I tried to adjust the windage but the reticle is still to the right. Thanks for the response.
I am going to have this scope fixed due to it's nostalgia and overall quality. What rifle I'll put it on I'm not sure yet.
