This is my personal best. 75YD running away up hill. One hornaday interlock in the spine above shoulders. He balled up, dead when he hit the ground. He was a big, old deer. His body was big in proportion to his Antlers. I was in a hurry to get some back strap frying, and jerkey drying. Didn't even think about weighing him. I used my last year 1982, 99A 243. I have killed quite a few deer with this gun. Most with that bullet. Most have ran 50 to 75 yards before piling up. Generaly the bullet has been found just under the hide on the off side. One poor little Buck ran towards me, in my excitement I put two more in his brisket. He slid to a stop at my feet. Just tike Dances With Wolves. Had I left well enough alone, he would have died in the same spot.
A Lion Kill my son found on our place.
This Buck was taken just at dusk in my neabors field. They apparently cooled him out overnight, then took him up on the sand for the photo op. Pictured is a local guide. Client was his freind from California.
If you like seeing pictures of the Big ones. And reading accounts of their harvest this is a good magizne, IMO
