Does anyone know what it is? Mine has a group at .238" ... I cannot come close to that ... may be me, may be the ammo ... just curious.

If it's a .17 HMR, my Anschutz 1717 shot a three shot .2" hundred yd. group with CCI TNT 17 gr. HP's. That the Speer bullet. The Wby XXII is an Anschutz, probably with the same barrel. Those thing do shoot. Just need a good scope and a solid bench.

I hate to keep repeating this here but if you really love shooting rimfires for accuracy but don't want to continue to shell out that kind of cash check out the Waltz sizer die. I've not gotten a chance to shoot my Weatherby yet but the hp Wolf MT out of my Waltz die does some amazing schitt in my Kimbers. And its also fun to send your buddies to all the gun shops looking for ammo that don't exist.. Lol

wareagle,

You may have been repeating that info, but I guess I missed it. What's the story on the Waltz sizer die?

A fellow named Neil Waltz makes a 22cal die that fits any standard single stage press. Basically it increases the size of the bullet by mashing the lead out to a uniform.225 . But also gives the option of a hp or Eley eps tip on the bullet. Its a fine piece of craftsmanship.
The hp tip seems to give the best accuracy for me. It also works very well on CCI CB longs for yard work....

You guys were talking about .22LR, not the HMR. Guess I was on the wrong track. Thanks for that info.

I'm pretty certain that info on Mr Neil is correct. He only makes two batches of then a year. Spring and winter. Its well worth the coin.
If I remember correctly I paid 120.00 shipped for mine but it will outlast me 10 fold .

There's a few different guys making bullet uniform sizers with tip options. I'm currently playing with one made by D Rock on rimfire central forums...they do work at tightening groups up...here's a link with contact info and some reviews on the Paco Kelly, D Rock & Neil Waltz dies...
