In order for it to lay next to a buck, you gotta leave the EG home. We all know that ain't gonna happen. Well, that thought had crossed my mind. Even when I've left the EG in the truck and took another 99 to the blind, there's never been a shooter buck walk in front of me until I go back and get the EG. But... maybe... just maybe.. If I take the EG up for the early October season and shoot a couple of does, maybe it will let another 99 shoot a buck? Or maybe if I leave the EG home totally, maybe it's mojo can't reach 270 miles to jinx me when I'm holding another rifle? Don't know. Risky business, either way.

you guys are killing me! There is a 30-30 sitting next door too...much higher ticket...like 8 bills...and I don't think it warrants 8 hun! The wood is my main concern, but for the cash, I may do it! I picked up a rat (25-35) a few years ago in trade for a couple of carcano carbines. It was in really bad shape, bore & action was nice though. I ended up putting it to the "wheel" and gave it a nice rust blue......yes not original but it looks much nicer now. I have since acquired a nice stock set for it & am sending it off to my buddy in TN to fit the wood. (got the fitting in trade as well for bluing an old SxS for him) It's been a long on going project but it will be worth it. Top pic is when I first got it (bottom one) Middle is halfway through the blue job, bottom is as it is now. (forgive my horrible photo skills) Of course I will post pics when it is done. Might be some time though, don't want him to rush a stock fitting....I want it done right

featherweight 25-35s are pretty rare... that one likely deserves some better wood at this point... hope you reuse the original butt plate though.
What is the story with the SRC? Is that an original stock? The HRBP appears to be a thin one, does not seem right for an SRC but hey, you never know.

No it's not an original stock. The HG is original. I have a set of wood for it as well but can't locate a SRC buttplate.
