Meaning what?
They are nothing more than a regular 111/11 action with a 26" muzzlebraked barrel set in a tupperware stock with an adjustable cheekpiece added.
I don't feel they represent good value at a MSRP of $962 and a street price of $800+.

I'm pretty much a Remington guy, but am considering a new dedicated target/long range gun. I'd like a 260, Creedemore, 6.5x284 and might go with a Savage or Shaw. capt david

Hey, I like Savage just fine since they have always catered to the LH market. My dedicated LR rig is a LH Savage but this factory LRH just doesn't seem like good value to me. If you're RH'ed then you can buy a used Savage or Stevens 200 rifle for $200-$300. Get a prefit SS Shaw for $230 a McGowen SS for $290 or a Shilen for $375 in the contour and chamber you want and then put it all in a $470 McMillan.
You'd know exactly what you have and you'd have a rifle with top quality parts for just a bit more than the street price of the LRH.

captdavid, what are you expecting to be able to do with the Savage Long Range? What distance are you considering?

Try the model 12 Long Range Precicion, it's on the target action in a H-S stock with a 6oz. trigger. I just got one in 6.5 Creedmoor. First 20 shots were 4 five shot goups, two diferent bullets and two different powder charges all groups were under .325 inches. Really shot well.
