Sounds too early to be a 99F, might have been rebarreled. Might ask for the barrel address.

If it's correct, it'd be a neat find. If it's wrong.. it's a nice shooter. Unless somebody here knows more, might ask seller to get a letter, or to buy it back from you later if a letter you order doesn't show it to be correct.

Of course, the Stith and chambering make it worth some decent $$ even as a shooter.

thanks for the info, what should I look for barrel address? I guess I will get a letter, although I am okay for the price I pd, by what the stiths are bringing on ebay, I would have 350 in the gun, the blue on barrel is 95%, receiver 95%, lever has most of its case, varnish is over 90%,has several handling marks, but not a sign of cracks or checks anywhere. I have seven grandsons that I am planing on outfitting with the 250's, so it works either way. the bore is immaculate

That's a sweet looking old rifle, but somebody's going to poke their eye out with that scope!

I just received my copy of Murray's book so I am still learning. Sure looks like a nice one to me. Whether it is a 1899 250-3000 or a 99G I like it.

that is the model... its not just a letter... some call it the

1899 250-3000 deluxe. Its nothing more than the original G though... basically, its just a really early 99G

I suspect that scope is not the high power rifle model and it has a 2" eye relief.

Looks more like a 29-S setting way to far to the rear.

Texken, what is the scope???
