I just bought a Heym 16 ga o/u and was wondering if any of the folks on here know anything (good or bad) about it. It is a Model 55 SS. Any info would be helpful.

Thanks,
Bart

is this the coin finished one? Skip checkering? Don't know a lot about them but based on their characteristics, I assume they are a late 60 or 70s era production. I would not expect it to be the highest of quality but still probably fun to shoot...Some of the older Heym O/Us can bring a pretty shiny penny if they have condition.

Always liked the 16 gauge myself

They're awfully dangerous to shoot, if they shoot at all...

I had better relieve you of this hazard. mad mad

Actually, they are of the highest quality, if you like that sort of thing. wink

Well take L2S's info over mine for sure... I should not have said anything as I was stereotyping the general quality of guns built with that finish and time frame. Heym is a well respected maker and the gun will likely prove to be of great quality.

I took it out to the trap range on Sunday and shot two rounds with it. I broke 22 both times, which is about as good as I shoot. It is a very nice handling shotgun and is in very nice condition. It locks up nice and tight and the ejectors and safety seem to function well, so I guess all is well.
