I had a great day at the range trying out some new toys and gotta say I was very disappointed in my new Ruger LCP. It would fail to feed the first round ~90% of the time and even hung up mid-mag a few times. Ammo type/brand and a different mag didn't make a difference either so until I get this pistol running 100%, it'll be a range-queen. Any ideas here? Has anyone had luck returning a pistol to Ruger for repair with an issue like this?
Biden's most truthful quote ever came during his first press conference, 03/25/21. Drum roll please...... "I don't know, to be clear." and THAT is one promise he's kept!!!

Send Ruger an email and ask for a Fed EX pickup. I had issues with an LCR and they paid shipping both ways and I got it back fixed in two weeks.

They say everything happens for a reason. For me that reason is usually because I've made some bad decisions that I need to pay for.

I had the same problem with mine. I offered the solution on one of the forums and was severely reprimanded for suggesting that someone do their own gun smithing. There is an easy fix, just look at where the top of the barrel meets the slide. That's where mine was hanging up. Maybe yours is the same.
That said, it is a fine pistol and travels with me alot. Ruger is great to deal with and will fix your problem for you if you send it to them. Yes, they hate bad press and will make it right. I had one of the earlier production guns that had a safety issue. Sending it to Ruger was very fast and painless.
I've also had to send a gun to Smith and Wesson for warranty repair. They too are excellent to deal with.

The LCP was on my short list but I am really looking closer at a Taurus now. I have even a cheap Bryco that doesn't jam so I am surprised that with all the good press about the LCP that has so many problems.

I've never understood the fascination with the micro 380's. I'm 5'8" and 160lbs and I've never had a problem concealing a J frame or a G19, so why go smaller? I also don't know why ALL the makers seem to be selling new guns that haven't been fully debugged. It would be one thing if they were plinkers, or even hunting guns, but when it is marketed as a protection gun, that's not right!

For what it's worth, my Khar 380 runs great.

My LCP hasn't jammed yet, despite the fact that it's mostly been fed a diet of 100 grain flat nosed cast bullets in cartridges loaded .050 below the minimum length in order to cover the grease groove in the bullet.
Many people who own them have commented on how reliably their LCP feeds.
Of course, as with all autoloaders, there can be a bad one.
Ruger's service dept has a longstanding reputation for fixing anything that's wrong.
I'd send it back with a detailed explanation of how it acts.
My guess is, they'll replace anything on it that could be the issue.

I'd hate to guess how many rounds I've put through my LCP without a hitch. I trust it 100%.

Me and my buddy put 100 rounds through both of ours this weekend with no issues. Mine has around 300 total through it with no problems.

I know of 4 guys that have the LCP and none of us have had issues of any kind.
It would probably be better to call Ruger. I shoot a max load of Power Pistol and the 95hp at 1040 fps through mine.

Mine didn't jam, but it did break at round 177 (something in the trigger linkage - Ruger was very vague in the description of the repair). My dealer sent it back and Ruger was prompt with a repair and return. I immediately sold it and went back to my Airweight S&W Bodyguard .38 Special.
