I have found a load for my 300 Ultra using RL 25 that is working well. I had a long range turret built for it and love it. A buddy who is a long range shooter said that RL 25 is extremely unstable due to temperature. Does anyone know how accurate that is.

Reloader 25 is not unstable. Use it if it works for you. In my 300RUM Retumbo was the best powder but YMMV.

Your friend has it wrong, powder isn't unstable. Maybe he meant RL-25 velocities will change with temperature.
I run RL-25 in a 300 RUM and a 257 Roy. I have see around a 50-65 fps difference between 85 and 35 degrees. Really hard to test in cooler temps here in S. Az.
Maybe a few of those Montana boys can add to this.

I have ran RL 25 and didn't notice that it was really temp sensitive. However, I have had much better luck with Retumbo and it is marketed as being not temp sensitive.

RL 25 has outperformed H1000 and Retumbo for me, lower ES better velocity and accuracy in my rifles. When I gave H1000 and retumbo a run I had problems with it. The main problem was a huge variation lot to lot. I haven't had that issue with RL25 in years of using it in alot of magnums.

I thought, "HOllY crap, you gotta have a 50" barrel to burn the powder in that sucker!" Glad I was wrong. Flinch
