+100 on that. That really was one of the best stories I've read on this forum. I dig that DIY mindset.

Now that was a great story! My hunts suck compared to that one.

How do you like that in-line filter on the hydration tube?

Thank you Sir!!

I have grown to really dig the inline filter. No more pumping for me. Just fill at a creek and back on the way, no more digging out the filter and squating down by the creek for 5 minutes to fill up the bladders.

If filling up the camp water bladder or my wife's bladder I just hook my bladder to the tripod or trekking pole and begin the "I.V. drip" as I like to call it, at a rate faster than I can pump the katadyn hiker pro I own and its all effort less and only ways 1/10 the weight of the katadyn too. Be hard to convince me to go back to a pump model anytime soon. laugh

Here it is filling up the camp 6L water bladder:

Luke,
What brand is that gravity fed filter system?

Nuff said about that.

Plus one on the great write-up! Thanks a lot.

Since we're mostly gear junkies anyway, I wonder if you could tell us what pack your bride is using and just quick thoughts on it. Maybe there's a link to a previous thread I missed??

Thanks, Luke. Looking forward to the next story!

Well, he must be gone on that DCUA hunt. I'm sure there will be more great pics and stories.

Back from DCUA for about 36 hours. Pics and story will have to wait. Got critters to care for and what not and another 10 days of solid sheep/caribou hunting coming up yet again....another 80 miles of hiking and packing this last go 'round and chompin' and the bit for more, no rest for the weary, but I wouldn't have it any other way laugh Rest assure pics and story will come, just got gear to clean, repack, and critters to clean, and get in the ol' freezer, you guys know how it is....
