Trying two factory loads in a brand new rifle doesnt mean squat, if you cant see that then you'll never understand. Do you think those carefully tuned handloads were not carefully tuned for that rifle? Dude, come on, your getting crazy now, no factory rifle will shoot 1 inch groups with just any ammo, if you know of one please tell us because i've never heard of that. You have to experiment and try many different loads before you call the rifle a POS.

I'm a little leary about jumping in here, since it seems like there's already some bad blood (at band camp!), but I would like to make these comments.
First - I would swap out scopes and try again - it sounds like the scope may be part of the problem. In addition, I would not try re-zeroing while testing for group size. Zero it AFTER you've determined what shoots best.
Second - If, after swapping scopes to a known quality scope (and possibly tinkering with the way the rifle is rested at the bench), the rifle still grouped that poorly, I would be disappointed. I would expect any high-quality factory rifle to shoot ANY high quality factory ammo into less than two inches. In this day and age, there is no excuse for a rig not to shoot at least that well.
And that's all I have to say about that! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

Good advice, RandallFlagg. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

I love my Remington Titanium in 30-06. All I did to it was adjust the trigger and feed it handloads of Hornady 168 gr. A-max bullets. It will shoot 3 shot 1" groups at 200 yds from a cold barrel. I just took a dall ram this week with one shot at 252 yds. The bullet hit exactly where I held. I could not have been more pleased. My friend shot the ram beside mine with his equally fine Rem. TI in 7mm-08 Ackley. Why carry a club when the wispy TI performs flawlessly?

Dimrod, I have a Rem Ti 30-06 too. Did you notice if your bullet tips being battered against the mag well. Mine recoils pretty bad with 180 gr plastic tipped SST bullets and bullet tips get crooked from smashing against the magazine. As I noticed the crooked tips open up the group. When I single feed the ammo it groups around 1 MOA or better. How do I cure this problem?

Yes Davaa,
My bullet tips get smashed, but flat, not crooked. Accuracy with the Hornady A-max bullets does not seem to be appreciatively affected. Besides, my ram dropped with the first shot. No more shots were needed.
I have noticed the phenomenon of smashed bullet tips on both lead and plastic tip bullets in all my heavier recoiling rifles. If not shooting for a benchrest type group, I have noticed no deterioration of hunting grade accuracy. I wonder if the front of your magazine well is perpendicular to the cartridge tips. Perhaps that is why your bullet tips are bending rather than flattening.
Once again, I will have to state that I am totally impressed with my Remington Ti. It is extremely and consistently accurate as well as tames the recoil well. It is so light on my pack. And in my opinion, is very competively priced when compared to other makers' ultralight rifles. Mine sports a Leupold 3X9 compact scope. If I could make any improvement at all, I would either darken or camoflage the metal; although its silver finish has not proven to be a detriment while hunting sheep.

The Leupold scope appears not to adjust the way it says it will - at a supposed four clicks per inch.
BCBrian: In my LIMITED experience of adjusting 3 different Leupold scopes, all Vari X IIs, the clicks seemed to move the POI 1/2 inch rather than the claimed 1/4 inch. To get them correctly sighted in, I had to assume 2 clicks per inch. I contacted Leupold, and was assured that they were 1/4 inch, and that their adjustments were accurate, but I have reason to believe otherwise. ???? Smitty of the North

This is exactly why my last 3 rifles have been Tikkas. 1 whitetail and 2 T-3's. All shoot factory ammo under 1". I am not pleased with big green lately and I prefer to spend bigger money on optics for the rifles not the rifle itself.
It is irrelevant what you think. What matters is the TRUTH.

Brian: Can you post a picture of this rifle. After all of the speculation here, I would like to see how you have it set up.
