Stopped at a Game & Parks archery range on the way up to our hunting land for the boys to have some fun.

And then had a run-in with a buck with a martyr complex on the same trip. Middle of the sandhills on a flat road and he decided to come running out of the dark and right in front of me. Not too bad of damage, but it racks up the $$ fast.

It's just about been too hot to go do much around here, although I've been working on getting a few stands ready. Here are a few pics taken from a little ground blind I've got set up about 10 minutes down the road from my house. The dates might not be right on all of them, but they were from this week.

It's a nice spot looking down into a creek bottom and I can walk in right off the paved road. Eldest daughter and I hunt there when we need a quick spot to go. We got five deer and two hogs there last season. These pics were taken over a pile of rice bran.
