I'd like to ask if anyone from Missoula knows a person named Peter Stackpole.

Reason I'm asking is I found out he owns a couple of parcels of land here in CT adjacent to a property I'm hunting so I'd like to contact him and ask if i can hunt his land.

If you have a lead, I'd appreciate the help.

Thanks,

Chris

Try Zabasearch, type in last name Stackpole, and select MT.

Should give you some numbers and names, try cold calling and see if they can connect you somehow.

I'm not having any luck, CT's county property search is a headache.

You should be able to go to the county assessor in the county where the property is located, give them the parcel location and receive the name and address of the owner of the property.

That's how I do it here.

I can see the listing and it tells me the owners address. However, Mr. Stackpole has a PO box listed in Missoula and they do not provide phone info in CT's database.

I did find 1 listing for a Peter Stackpole via zabasearch, so I'll give that number a call in a bit.

Thank you for your help!

BD,

Thanks for this tip. I was able to reach the owner on the first call! She'll be speaking with her brother (Peter) and getting back with me about letting my pard and I hunt on the property.

It's hard to find private land to hunt here in CT. The town of Haddam has a very nice interactive parcel map program that provides all the details plus owner information.

If we get permission, not only will it add on to huntable acreage, but it will also provide another way to get in. Something I have been looking for for a while now.

Thanks to all who have helped me with this.

What a friendly person to speak with on the phone. A gal and her brother own some nice land here in CT. After 1 phone call and a quick intro of myself She had no problemo giving me and my pard ChipM permission to hunt her land.

To put things into perspective, you would need to do that 20 times here where I live to yield the same result....

Really nice folks in Missoula!

There are a lot of people here in Missoula that have a surname of Stackpole. There are so many things you can do anyway. Since you also have the first name, it should give you pretty quick results. There are some people search engines online which is easier to access and doesn't cost anything. How about doing the classic way of looking into the yellow pages? LOL. I bet you'll pass on that.

411 is another option though, depends on the agent that you're gonna speak with but I find most of them very helpful. Give it a shot, good luck.
