Seriously, the book on rifle troubleshooting and some of the tricks you've shared on what's really important for developing hunting handloads (maybe some current favorite loads with all the new powders etc) and some "shade tree" type fixes for sick rifles.

I've also been gathering a few tips from top gunsmiths.

Optics would be my first choice but I am sure I will learn a lot from either one.

Mr. Mule Deer what I like about your articles is you give real use in the field insight. Like when you were in New Zealand and the hunting world was conversing about Berger bullets and would they work based on supposition and science you said they layed down a lot of tough goats with middle sized calibers, useful information. I want some insightful direction to a conclusion not a bunch of scientific Marketing spin! You tell it so I can follow the bread crumbs and reach my own conclusion. I handload a 30-06 so interested although you have already given me my current Ramshot Hunter load and 180 grain in another thread. Scopes are a major scientific Marketing spin job. The only that matters is what my eye thinks, however sizing to hunting application is interesting and what reticle and who does best at twilight as a rule. Best value for buck spent. I have some Weaver Grand Slams and I would put them somewhere in that catagory. Do both over time just keep leaving bread crumbs so we can sort thru the Marketing spin to meet our personal needs. Trouble shooting? Since when did it become trouble for an American to shoot?
That's just unamerican. And we don't need no more unamerican books.
Think God and Country first man.

And tell Eileen that my wife loves her recipes. She's a non-hunter/shooter and had never cooked wild game 'til she met me. Those good recipes are slowly converting her to liking venison and other game.
Best Regards to both of you!

There are so many "junk" optics on the market today that I believe a book on optics would better serve the shooting and hunting community.
Many hunters could use some instruction on proper glassing techniques, laser rangefinder use in conjunction with the many ballistic reticles available these days and also ballistic programs.
Here, hold my beer and watch this!
