What is there in the San Antonio area? What is there for longer ranges (1000 yards+)?
The reason I am asking is my brother just retired from the navy to San Antonio and is looking.
There comes a time when one must take a position that is neither safe, nor polite, nor popular -- but one must ask, "Is it right?"

Thank him for his service.

A Place to Shoot is not bad. Only 1000 yard range I know of in S. Tx. would be highway 37 between San Antonio and Corpus. Flat and long. http://aplacetoshoot.com/BP...

Wow! That brings back memories. Haven't shot there in years. I knew that they were still around as my daughter took her son over there last fall to sight in his new rifle.

I don't think any of the local ranges offer anything over 300 yards any more. A Place to Shoot used to offer longer ranges, but you had to call before hand to reserve. IIRC they no longer offer, as there is a right of way through their property that is frequently used by both CPS (local utility) and City of San Antonio vehicles.
