I am sorry, Sir.
It is very hard to lose a friend. I am sure that you and Mrs. Lee gave Gaby only the best till the very end.

Mr.Lee---I am very sorry to hear about your loss. Our pets become more than just pets and every loss hurts deeply. I hope you have a better weekend and am sure you will see her again.

My old dog Beau, broken hips from cancer, couldn't walk, pulled himself across the floor to console me when we took him to get put down. I'm not sure I ever felt so bad.
Animals teach us unconditional love, and sometimes it takes them passing for us to realize just how much we need that love.
I've always said I'll know there's a heaven if when I die, Beau and his sister Megan are waiting for me.
I'm feeling for you brother..

Thanks Jorge, I think I will stick with the two we have left though, I am old and getting tired of burying my furry friends.

I mentioned that to my wife as we drove down to the Vet and in fact I told Gabby that she would soon be going to sleep and would wake up there and we would be along some day to pick her and the rest of our friends up.
DAMMIT I got dust in my eyes all over again.

Terry, Karen and I send our hearfelt condolences. I know how we'd feel if our little Stowaway left the scene ... I'd be seeing her sneaking around every corner of our home, even though she wasn't there. We hurt in direct proportion to the love we feel for our furcritters. We've lost several of our Scottydogs over the years and each and every one has left a dog-sized hole in our hearts. The love remains, the hurt eventually passes ... thank our Good Lord. I will light a candle for Gabby at Vigil Mass this evening. Count on it, my dear friend. Steve PS. Karen continues to improve from her stroke. She's forgetful at times, but at our age ain't we all? She's mostly back and I thank God for that! ST PPS. Below is a photo of Stowie. I had three big game hunts back to back; moose/whitetail, elk/mule deer and Montana mules. I had a one-day turn around between each. At the end of my third return, Stowie hopped into my duffle bag ... no damned way was I going to leave her life again without HER going too.

Thanks Terry, I was pretty dismal for a while. She was in a deep dark place and Karen wasn't amongst us for almost a day. To make it more horrible, one of her lungs collapsed and she lost one arm and a leg.
The physical part is over now. There is NO WEAKNESS in the arm or the leg and her lung is doing well.
I was so alone. So, so alone and hoped & prayed I was making the right decisions. Our Bible Study Teacher was on the phone with me constantly, but mostly I simply could not talk, for sobbing.
Karen's pretty-much back and I'm having to keep her building up a bit at a time.
The cool part is that she now looks at our home, which is decaying slowly around us because of my infirmities, as the most beautiful place in the world. After being in the hospital and there is surely NO BETTER PLACE in the universe than right here ... with her hubby, dog and kitty. Life is good!!
Your prayers are totally appreciated, my dear friend.
Steve

My condolences Terry. Glad to hear that she purred 'til the end; sounds like she went knowing she was well loved and comforted.
