I'm interested in trying a 232 grain Norma bullet for a 9.3x62 but unfortunately Norma powder is not available. Does anyone have any beginning load suggestions for this bullet? I always have stuck with published load data but find myself needing to be a bit more adventurous with this particular bullet. What does one do when no data is available for a particular cartridge/bullet and you need to find a starting point? Definitely new territory for me.

Hodgdon has data for the 9.3x62 on their web site.

I don't think I explained myself well enough in the initial post. I want to use Norma's 232 gr bullet but there is absolutely no load data for that bullet in our conventional load books (Nosler, Hornady, Speer, etc.) other than in Norma's load book or on their webisite. Norma does not list any other powders but Norma in their load data and no substitutes. What I am looking for is a "substitute" powder for the 232 gr bullet. I can't order Norma's powder, nor does anyone in Alaska carry Norma powder so I'm looking for something I can get locally. I have all the load data I could possibly use... except for a bullet in that weight range. I'm just wondering if anyone has any ideas on how to work up a load using an IMR, Reloader, etc. type powder. Hoping this clears things up.

64 grains of Reloder 15 or 62 grains of Varget works great in my CZ 550, with sub-inch groups and around 2700 fps.
