This will be #30 for me this year. Havent missed a one, all on the same farm my uncle owns. Having seen my trail cam pics, I think I might just be MORE excited than normal. Plus I will get the 7 year old girl out again and maybe....just maybe....the 3 year old twin boys. That is asking for trouble though, that is for sure!

I wanna see some old pictures well here's an old pic of a little house outside our hunting cabin in the '60's, aptly named. The cabin was named "Camp Wait-a-Minit"

I guess it will be 26th year for me, guess Im just a pup. The life style it has given me is like heaven on earth. My oldest son will be armed afield this season so my main goal will be to put a good one in front of him. Lord willing I'll post some pics of a proud dad and a sons first deer.

This year will be the 28th year for me deer hunting, 27th year bowhunting. I've never missed an opening day of gun season yet. Had to quit a job one time to make the opener but by golly I was out there! Killed my first deer in my fourth year of rifle hunting. Still have the rack of that 6 pointer, got him with a Ruger #1V 6mm Rem and a handloaded Hornady 100 gr BTSP. Best of luck to everyone this fall, whether it is your 50th season or your first!

Good for you! Keep at'em.
I haven't been that consistent. Even so, most folks who know me know it is my passion.
It has been 52 years since I killed my first deer[s]. I only hunted one season during the four years I was on active in the Corps, didn't hunt the first three years I was out and didn't hunt one season after I got divorced unless you count women...
I have buck, doe and bull tags for Wallowa Co. OR this season. I retire 9-29-11. Now I can stay up there from 9-29 to 11-5-11 this year. I have turkey, cougar and bear tags also and there looks tobe a lot of grouse this year.

This year will be my 50th year of deer hunting, I will be hunting in Kentucky hoping to repeat my luck of '08 when I took a nice 8 pointer.

This will be my 57th consecutive deer season. I can recall, with crystal clarity, events of hunts 50 or more years ago, but have trouble remembering what I did yesterday.

Started in alarge oak tree bordering a county road in Doss,Texas. My Dad killed a good buck that evening. I still remember the fire shooting out the end of his old Enfield sporter. This would be my 51st year but my Dad passed away last year 3 days before hunting season and I didn't hunt a day...so I guess this will be my 50th year. powdr

I have started season #39. Have not missed one year. I often ask folks what are they passionate about, and I get all kinds of answers. When I ask how long they have been doing it, other than hunting or fishing, it is rare to get many years for an answer.
In 1972 killed my first deer with a browning #45 recurve, while hunting on the ground. I didn't know that it was supposed to be hard to do. I was too young and inexperienced to know better. Shot that button head under an apple tree.

Who remembers when treestands first hit the market? I bought a Baker climbing stand in K-Mart for around 20 bucks, I think. Slid down a tree with it shortly after!

Congrats to the 50+ year veterans. It's 35 seasons for me and I hope I get a few more in before the finish line.
