Enlisted in the 514th MP CO, NC ARNG in 1973, BCT and AIT at USATC-ARMOR, Ft. Knox KY. I graduated from Infantry OCS at Ft. Bragg NC in 1975; as an officer I served in Maintenance for 12 years, Military Police for 8 years, and Multi-functional logistics for 10 years, one tour in OIF (2003). Spent 13 1/2 years of my 32 1/2 year career in command; two detachments, two companies, one battalion, one group, and one brigade to include a logistics task force during OIF. Retired in 2005.
One of the sanest, surest, and most generous joys of life comes from being happy over the good fortune of others. Archibald Rutledge

US Army 1985-1987 (active duty) 1987-1989 (reserves) Fort Jackson, SC for basic training Fort Gordon, GA, for AIT (72E combat telecommunications center specialist - already obsolete before I even finished training) HHC AVN BDE, 101st ABN DIV (Air Assault), Ft Campbell, KY
Air Assault qualified and ended up being a jack-of-all-trades in the commo platoon - did some "wire dog" work, but mostly worked a RATT Rig. Learned to drive a stick shift on an M151A1 and one of my regrets was never driving a Humvee (they arrived as I was ETSing out). Honorably discharged as a SP4.
Saddest of all - joined the Army to "see the world" and got stationed in my home state. haha Went to PLDC in May 1989 (again, at Ft Jackson) and probably learned more in those weeks than in the previous several years.
