late addition, as I get older there's a reason I like Horns and NBT's so much as they shoot well 4 me and kill small big game (blackies, lopes, deer) and large big game (elks/moose) with ease. And, they're not overly twist picky..grin

Dober You left out they don't break the bank either. That's always a consideration for me since I really like practicing with what I will actually be hunting with.
I try to stick with the basics, they do so well. Nothing fancy mind you, just plain jane will get it done with style. You want to see an animal drop right now? Shoot him in the ear hole. BSA MAGA

I'll only add....I will most likely try the Scir one more time in a lil .260 I'm having put together. But, if it pukes it I won't be back. (tis a rem barrel so may not have the twist).
And I ordered a new 25 tube the other day Steely, guess what twist. I went 12.....actually I went 9. What was that about old perro's and new tricks.

Calling anything the "dominant" bullet across the entire 'Fire may be a bit of a stretch. I suspect preferences are a lot more diverse than you perceive.

D- +1, not many bullets that don't kill when steered well.
Somewhere read the 6.5/130 SSII has an 'exagerated BC' fwiw. The 130 AB is my choice right now, but when my next 2 6.5s are complete, they will test a few 123s and the 130 VLD. The AB however is the tougher than the 123s and Berger. I as others hear mixed results in accuracy, could well be load sensitive who knows.
I have so many ABs that I will jump to TSX/TTSX if I need anything 'stouter.'

I bought a few boxes of factory ammo with Scirocco II's for a .300 Win Mag from a gunshop that was going out of business for about the price I would pay for new brass. I wound up shooting them in a new rifle and using the brass. They were very accurate but I never shot them at any game.

The 130g S-IIs shoot great in my 6.5-06AI. Only one antelope to date but it went straight down. (To no ones surprise...)
I'll use them until they fail in this rifle, and use 140 A-MAX for practice.

No, I'm not a Ruger bigot - just an unabashed fan of their revolvers, M77's and #1's.
A good .30-06 is a 99% solution.

Only shot a few of them (150's) in a .308, worst groups I've ever shot, straight shotgun style. Might be seating depth, dunno, maybe this winter I'll work on them a bit more.

Sciroccos have a reputation for being finicky with seating depth. Fortunately for me, I got lucky with my Custom KS/SS Mountain .300 RUM. Magazine length limits my OAL to where I can't come too close to the lands, and just seating about as far out as I can get away with and still fit in the magazine produced ragged-hole groups.
In my .308, seating 150 grain Scirocco IIs to an identical comparator length as my former 150 grain NBT pet load produced superb accuracy. Unfortunately, this was not the case in prior testing when I tried Interbonds, Interlocks and Accubonds.

I used the SI in my 270 WSM with DRT results on 2 hogs and a WT doe. I use the SII in my 264, and have taken 2 WT does with that load with good results. They shoot very well out of my 264, but I get better accuracy with the Hornady Interbond out of my 270 WSM with about the same terminal performance.

The 180 grain shoots very well in my 300 Win. Mag. 1/2 MOA
I had to play with the seating depth. Went close to book max. 75 grains H-4831. Bingo nice small groups. I have only shot one deer with this load---- dead deer. I have a friend he used this bullet in his 300 Bee and wacked a very nice Bull Elk with one shot. Complete penetration. I could hunt with confidence useing this bullet.
