I've been reading some Archibald Rutledge and Havilah Babcock this summer and keep reading that this or that dog was "A Dropper." I don't know what that means. Does the dog pick up the bird and drop it or drop to the ground when it points or what? I guess that's probably like asking wnat Setters "set" but its a term that stumps me.

Thanks!
